According to an official announcement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Ajinkya Rahane fined ₹12 lakh after his team failed to complete their allotted 20 overs within the prescribed time limit. The fine was imposed under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which governs slow over-rate violations in the tournament.
First Slow Over-Rate Offence for KKR This Season

Additionally, other players in the team’s playing XI could face fines of 25 percent of their match fee or ₹6 lakh, whichever is lower.
If the offence occurs for a third time during the season, the penalties increase significantly. The captain could face a fine of ₹30 lakh and also receive a one-match suspension, which would prevent him from leading the team in the following fixture.
